I wonder if lawyers for Automattic get a good laugh at some of the cases/lawsuits people try to bring on the company. This guy is a lawyer and represented himself. He’s not very good at it.
This is really just a joke. WordPress/Automattic is NOT at all to blame here.
This might be a topic for another post…but can we talk about how almost every article about Automattic/WordPress.com gets referred to as just “Wordpress”? I feel like there is a lot of information on the differentiation between the two, but a lot of journalists don’t do that basic research to effectively make the distinction.
On a related note, I absolutely love Automattic’s legal stance protecting free speech. Many hosts would just cave and let this loser win.
This lawsuit is downright frivolous. A “trademark” suit? Seriously?
